Sporting Heroes Statues

Barking and Dagenham has had a number of national and international sporting heroes who have lived in Barking and Dagenham. In 2008 the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham commissioned a statue to commemorate some of them. The sculpture is made out of steel and can be seen on the A13.

The sculpture recognises the achievements of:

Bobby Moore who was the England caption  who England to their 1966 football World Cup victory

Sir Alf Ramsey who was the Manager of the English team and led them to victory in the 1966 football World Cup

Jason Leonard has played for England more than any other player and when he lived in Barking and Dagenham he attended Warren Junior School

Beverley Gull is a former Paralympic swimming champion

Furze-Warren

Hard Federation

On behalf of the staff, pupils and governors of Furze Infants and Warren Junior School I would like to welcome you to our federation. We are two schools working together under one Governing Body for the benefit of our pupils and the success of the community we live in.

We believe our schools gain from working collaboratively, more importantly, we strive to provide a seamless transition for our pupils between the two schools.
