Book study: The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo The Arrival by Shaun Tan Video animation persuasive writing letter writing discussion texts narrative writing Literacy devices, including: imagery, personification, metaphors, similes. Grammar Parenthesis, expanded noun phrases, colons, semi-colons, formal/informal register, direct and reported speech, apostrophes for contraction and possessions, perfect tense, hyphens and bullet points.

Common factors, multiples & prime numbers Fractions, decimals & percentages – simplifying, comparing and ordering fractions, add, subtract multiply and divide fractions, compare & convert fractions, decimals and percentages, Percentage problems. Algebra – simple formulae
Geometry- measuring and missing angles. Co-ordinates all four quadrants, translation and reflection.

Measurement –solve problems involving calculation & conversion of units of measure Use, read, write & convert between standard units including length, mass, volume & time Perimeter & area of parallelograms and triangles. Formulae for area & volume
Geometry – 2D & 3D shapes using given dimensions and angles Recognise, describe & build 3-D nets Find unknown angles in triangles, quadrilaterals & regular polygons Work out missing angles of a straight line and point. Statistics - interpret and construct pie graphs. Mode, mean, median & range. |
