Teacher Training

Warren Junior School is an outstanding school that acts as the Lead School for Primary and Special trainees offering teacher training positions through School Direct.

We work in partnership with Goldsmith’s University of London to provide Initial Teacher Training through the School Direct programme. Goldsmith’www.gold.ac.uk is one of the largest providers of teacher training and a world renowned leader in the field. Placements can be at any of the Good or Outstanding Strategic Partner schools within the alliance, including Trinity Special School.

The School Direct training programme is open to both top graduates and career changers. It offers talented individuals the chance to be part of a teaching team from day one by combining teacher training with on the job learning. The support and guidance given to all trainees ensure that the placements are successful and work in harmony with the university. Trainees are based in their ‘host school’ for the year with a second placement of up to six weeks in a contrasting age range during the spring term. All mentors are experienced teachers and senior leaders.
